Michaela Borinstein

Licensed Associate Counselor

Background

I am a Licensed Associate Counselor who works with individual teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. Having a space where you can feel safe enough to be honest and human can help bear some of the weight of a painful experience. The support I offer is centered on helping individuals gain insight around unresolved pain and develop a greater sense of how to live out values in a meaningful way.

My approach integrates Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and other evidenced-based practices that are trauma-informed. I have a background in education and community-based care that has reinforced the importance of understanding each person’s unique way of processing. This can be a helpful foundation to ensure therapy is collaborative.

For clients requesting faith integration, I am passionate about providing clients a place to wrestle through spiritual questions or be honest about how they are working through doubt. I have seen how gaining a greater awareness of God’s presence and grace can be what provides a deep sense of rest. I would love to meet you and sit with you in the season you are currently facing.
